An auto convoy from Karachay-Cherkessia arrived in Abkhazia for a celebration in honor of the 25th anniversary of Victory and Independence.

The convoy from the Krasny Vostok village arrived in Abkhazia on Saturday on September 29 as a sign of unity of Abazins with the brotherly Abkhazian people. The action takes place within the framework of festive events for the 25th anniversary of the Victory and Independence of Abkhazia.
According to Natalie Dzhemakulova, the system coordinator of the Abazin Women's Councils of the ANO «Alashara», the rally "Krasny Vostok-Sukhum" is held for the first time and timed to the 25th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the Abkhazian people of 1992-1993. Its initiators were the Coordinating Women's Council of the Abazin villages of Karachay-Cherkessia and the equestrian club «Gumlokt» (Gumlokt - Abazin name of the village of Krasny Vostok - ed.).
«The purpose of the motor rally is to attract the attention of residents of settlements located on the route of the convoy, as well as drivers and passengers of oncoming and associated vehicles to this significant date. We decorated our cars with special stickers with festive drawings and, of course, flags. Therefore, our column is difficult not to notice,» said Dzhemakulova.
She added that «the participation of children in this action is caused by the desire to show the unity of Abazins and Abkhazians».
The participant of the rally, Amerbi Uzdenov, noted that he decided to travel as soon as he learned of this opportunity.
«We decided to go to Abkhazia, because this is an opportunity to see old friends and brothers, to communicate, to exchange news. This is an opportunity to see the beauty of the Country of the Soul and tell about them at home,» Uzdenov said.
Another participant of the run Islam Gilyasov also noted the importance of this action.
«We want our brothers to know that we are near, that we are with them. And we want to do our bit to make the world know: Abkhazia is a free country, it defended its right to independence 25 years ago by winning a war with Georgia,» Gilyasov stressed.
25th anniversary of Victory and Independence is celebrated in the Republic of Abkhazia on September 30. On this day, representatives of the Abaza people, foreign delegations, as well as all friends of Abkhazia from all over the world come to the Republic to congratulate the Abkhaz on this remarkable day and take part in the festive events.
