25th anniversary of the Victory and Independence Day was celebrated in the capital of Abkhazia and throughout the Republic.
The festive events on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Victory and Independence Day were celebrated in Sukhum on Sunday, September 30.
In the morning of the festive day, representatives of the country's leadership and foreign government delegations from the friendly to Abkhazia countries laid flowers to two memorials. Those were the monument to the first President of Abkhazia Vladislav Ardzinba in the village of Lower Eshera and the memorial in honor of the deceased in the Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in the Park of Glory.
The gratitude of descendants living today in an independent state is a little that you can do for the memory of the died ones for the free future of the country, believes the officer of Abkhaz MFA Anna Gamisonia, who annually participates in the wreath laying ceremony.
«We are obliged to our heroes to live in a peaceful country and develop. This is the smallest thing we can do. While the memory about them is alive, their feats are alive,» she said.
The ceremony of the celebration of the Victory Day continued by the military parade on the Square of Liberty. At the square, solemnly, the veterans of war passed, as well as infantry and armored vehicles.
Square of Liberty and the entire park area territory were filled with spectators: children and adults in national costumes, in the outfits of camouflage coloring, with balls and ribbons. The residents of villages, towns and districts of Sukhum came.
Bagrat Otyrba is a participant of the war of the people of Abkhazia. He defended his homeland with arms in his hands when he was 18 and was awarded the medal «for the courage». Today he came to the capital from Gagra and brought three young sons with him at the holiday to show the children the parade. «I want my children to know their history, the history of their country, their people. They should learn the feeling of patriotism and love of the Motherland,» he said.
Bagrat also said that he feels special responsibility and pride for his country when today, after 25 years after the war, he participates in a peacetime parade.
The holiday was shared by residents of the country and guests of Abkhazia.
So, ambassador at large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia in Italy Vito Grittani came to Sukhum on the anniversary of the Victory.
«For the forest time I celebrate this great holiday in Abkhazia, but each year I celebrated it in Italy, in our diplomatic representation. For me, this anniversary became an indicator of the high patriotism of the Abkhaz people, I was able to get acquainted with the newest history of Abkhazia in one day. A very touching holiday for me,» he shared.
President of the Italian Association «Europe - Abkhazia» Akille Nochito is also for the first time in Abkhazia and shared his impressions.
«I am for the first time in Abkhazia and got to such a grandiose holiday, I'm happy. Impressions are the most pleasant: a lot of patriotism, which we lose in Europe. This is my first visit to Abkhazia, I can say that the country is very beautiful, people are pleasant and hospitable, and most importantly - this all is absolutely different from what I read about Abkhazia online. A lot of disinformation,» he said with regret.
The festive parade was continued with the action «Immortal Regiment», in which several hundred people of all ages take part annually.

One of the participants of the action, Inal Lazba, passed along the area of freedom with a photograph of his native uncle - the participant of the war, the cavalry of the Order of Leon, Alik Lazba. He shared a common mood in the ranks of the «Immortal Regiment» and his feelings from the opportunity to go to the parade of victory as if instead of his uncle.
«The action was held with the participation of schoolchildren. And it turned out that one of my friends saw a photo of my uncle, the commander of the group «suicides» of the July distraction maneuver. After a while I was already in a building, surrounded by children, next to my comrade who kept his photo of his father who died on the day of the liberation of Sukhum. I am proud that I had this opportunity: today, on the day of the 25th anniversary of the victory, to walk along the Square of Freedom, closing the parade. There were mixed feelings, I imagined myself instead of him walking among his fighting friends ... it hurts and at the same time joyful in my soul. Those children who have worn the photographs of the warriors should understand that we are alive due to them (the heroes of the war - pr. Ed.), and we do not have the right to drop the banner of victory in the future, but must pass it to the next generation.»
Participants in the war of 1992-1993 have adequately received the call of that time and won, explained Lazba.
«Whether we can also take ahead those calls that are ahead, history will show, but the memory of them should serve as a support and a landmark,» he concluded.
Solemn events were continued with a festive concert on the Makhadzhirs promenade and the dance show at the Dynamo Stadium, which was specially designed for the jubilee. The director of the show was the chairman of the State Abkhaz State Committee for Youth Affairs Temur Kvekveskiri. The main idea of the dance show is that the domestic war of the Abkhaz people is represented as a struggle of good and evil.
«We decided to approach the history of the war globally, show it as a struggle of good and evil. In addition to local dance ensembles, in the production, the ensembles of volunteers of those countries from where volunteers came,» he said.
Local state dance ensembles took part in the show, such as the «Sharatyn», the «Caucasus» and the ensemble of Sukhum Cultprosvet, and the ensemble of the dance of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic «Kabardinka», the dance theater of Karachay-Cherkessia, the National Adyghe dance ensemble «Nalmes», the B.A. Galaev Ensemble of the Song and Dance of the Republic of South Ossetia «Simd», the Igor Moiseev Academic Ensemble of the People's Dance, Al-Ahli ensemble from Jordan.
The solemn show was over with national singer of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia Khibla Gerzmava with the premiere of the «Abkhazia» song, which was written specially for the 25th anniversary of the day of victory and independence by Maxim Fadeev.
