As part of his working visit to Abkhazia, the Chairman of the WAC SC Mussa Ekzekov visited the village of Baslakhu and met with the activists of the Local branch.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, Mussa Ekzekov, within the framework of his working visit to Abkhazia, visited the village of Baslakhu and met with the activists of the Local branch of the WAC on Friday, 26 March.

The meeting took place at the Chichiko Khiba Baslakhu Secondary School. The guests consisting of the employees of the Congress, headed by Ekzekov were met there by representatives of the activists, as well as school employees and students in national Abkhazian clothes with food and wine. The children prepared a performance based on the Nart epos specially for the arrival of the guests.

During a conversation with the activists of the Local branch of the Congress, Mussa Ekzekov told about his vision of the development of the Abkhazian village.

"I hope to God that we always live in peace, but when we stand up to defend the Motherland, we all understand what and how to do. However, in a peaceful life, no less efforts are needed, if not more.  It can be difficult to explain how responsive one should to be, how important to be together, be close, talk to each other, understand the problems of each village, each family, each person. Today we must set goals for the next 5-10 years and begin to implement them. Each small achievement will bring us closer together, we will be able to plan our destiny together. We will be looking for all the possibilities. This is the main task for today," said the Chairman of the WAC SC.

The head of the school, Asida Pachulia, greeted the guests with great enthusiasm.

"Today is a happy day for us, the head of the World Abaza Congress Mussa Ekzekov came to visit us. This visit is also timed to coincide with the victory of our and Mokva schools in the republican competition for knowledge of the Nart epos. I really want our children to take part in all the important events of the country. The Congress has repeatedly helped our school with sports equipment and office supplies. I want to thank everyone who is involved in this support," said the school headmaster.

After the meeting, the school heads spoke about the long-standing tradition, according to which the outstanding guests of the school plant tree seedlings in the Park named after the writers of Abkhazia. Many of them were planted by the writers themselves. This tradition was founded by the former headmaster of the school, Chichiko Khiba, who has worked there for over 50 years. In 2016, the Park of Writers was renamed in honor of the Abkhazian poet and writer Ivan Tarba, and a marble slab with his name was installed. The tradition continues to this day. Mussa Ekzekov was no exception among the celebrities who planted trees, and at the end of the meeting, at the request of the school administration, he planted young trees in the park named after Ivan Tarba.

After a visit to the school, Mussa Ekzekov visited the Chirikba family, where a house for a young family has been built within a year through the efforts of the entire village, the Congress team and also many caring compatriots.

The head of the WAC SC expressed confidence that if we help each other in this way, then any problems will be solved.

"If we help each other, we will succeed. It is very important to take care of each other, to understand that we are not just neighbors, not just fellow villagers - we are one family. There is always love in the family. I hope to God that this love becomes bigger and bigger with such good deeds," he said.

The Head of the Administration of the village Daur Pagava once again thanked the Congress team and personally Mussa Ekzekova for the assistance provided.

"Today is a significant day for the whole village of Baslakhu, it is a great event for us to meet such a person as Mussa Khabalevich Ekzekov. We are grateful that he found time to visit us today.  Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, the construction of the house is now suspended, but, as before, the whole village is helping this young family. On behalf of the Baslakhu Administration, I would like to thank all those involved for their help," concluded Pagava.

Mussa Ekzekov's working visit to Abkhazia took place from March 24 to 27 and was marked by his official meeting with the President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, and later by the President's visit to the WAC office to communicate with the entire Congress team. In the remaining days, the Chairman of the WAC Supreme Council held personal meetings with members of the Supreme Council, Women's Councils, the activists of the local branches of the Baslakhu village and the New district of Sukhum.
