He stressed that the day of November 26, 1994 was a fateful milestone in the history of the Republic of Abkhazia.

“The special regulatory legal act adopted on this day, which has the highest legal force, allowed preserving state foundations, strengthening sovereignty, and creating the necessary conditions for further progressive development of the country in a difficult period for the Republic,” said the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC.

The Constitution at all times and in all nations was the personification of statehood, citizenship and democratic values, said Ekzekov.

“It affirmed the rights and freedoms of people, equality, regardless of nationality, origin or religion. The basic law of the state is a document that has absorbed the entire history and achievements of the people, defining the foundations of the political, legal, and economic system of any state,” he explained.

Mussa Ekzekov also stressed that the most important task of the Constitution is to constantly improve the mechanisms of social harmony, to unite all the healthy forces of society in order to improve the living conditions of the population.

“I am convinced that the further strengthening of constitutional values ​​will become a reliable guarantee of future achievements of the Republic of Abkhazia,” said Ekzekov.

The Constitution of the Republic of Abkhazia was adopted on November 26, 1994 at the session of the Supreme Council of the twelfth convocation and approved by a national referendum on October 3, 1999.
