Dear compatriots, brothers and sisters!

On behalf of the World Abaza Congress and on my own behalf, I congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The Patriotic War of the People of Abkhazia in 1992-1993 became both a tragic and heroic page in the history of the Abkhazian people. At the cost of the blood of their best sons and daughters, the people of Apsny, together with the volunteers who came to the rescue, managed to resist the Georgian army, protect families, ensure the preservation of the Abkhaz-Abaza ethnic group as such, and got the opportunity to build a state based on the principles of respect for their native language, culture and traditions.

After the crucial Victory and the declaration of independence, the people actively worked to restore and strengthen statehood, going through all the difficulties caused by the post-war economic and humanitarian blockade.

Only after the election of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as Russian President, the policy towards Abkhazia changed significantly, which ultimately led to epoch-making international recognition of the country's independence.

Today's Abkhazia gives us a special perspective for the unification of the Abkhaz-Abaza people living in more than 50 countries of the world and the opportunity for a new history of development, which we are all writing together with our deeds.

Every year on September 30, we pay tribute to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the well-being of their families and friends, for the freedom to choose their own way for the development of the state. Victory in the war with Georgia was common to people of different nationalities and different religions. The spirit of unity that reigned during and after the war still helps today to build new bridges of trust and mutual understanding between the peoples living in Apsny.

As we remember courageous people on this day, we also note the importance of preserving the values for which they fought. The principles of freedom and self-determination are the foundation of our society, and it is our responsibility to carefully pass them on to new generations

Today, we certainly honor their legacy as we work to create a future in which our country thrives and enjoys peace and mutual respect for each other.

We will continue to strengthen the bonds of friendship and brotherhood, building a brighter and more harmonious future for all who call Abkhazia their home. Together we can ensure that the priceless sacrifices of our heroes live on in the progress and prosperity of our people.

I would like to once again congratulate every representative of the Abkhaz-Abaza people, all residents of Abkhazia and volunteers on this significant date!

We wish well-being and prosperity to our beloved Apsny!

CHAIRMAN OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL M.K. EKZEKOV
