The second in the republic "Mandarin" winter festival has opened in Sukhum. A wish board - an architectural installation in the form of a map of Abkhazia, which can be completed throughout the festival - was installed on the Sergey Bagapsh Square. A large food court opened nearby, captivating everyone. Its main attraction was a two-meter-tall "ачашә" (khachapur – editor's note), made especially for the event by the "Nartaa" restaurant. An impressive spit-roasted buffalo also attracted attention.

According to Svetlana Gabuniia, director of the ANO Center for Social and Cultural Projects "ATSLA" and the festival organizer, more than 300 people were involved in the event, including volunteers, confectioners, creative professionals, local residents, producers, and hotel and restaurant employees.

Festival board member Sariya Argun emphasized that the main goal of the event is to promote Abkhazian culture, traditions, and its rich historical heritage.

A gala concert to mark the festival's opening featured performances by Abkhazian pop artists Lyudmila Gumba, Jimmy Shumeniia, the "Ianai" music band, the "Gunda" ensemble, DJs Shiri and TEMO, and others. Guests plunged into the atmosphere of folk traditions: an Abkhaz-Adyg group staged a rousing dance performance on the square near the Drama theater. A children's entertainment program featuring animators was organized for young visitors. The evening culminated in a spectacular fire show.

The festival organizers are the ANO Center for Social and Cultural Projects "ATSLA" and the Ministry of Tourism of Abkhazia. This year, the project received support from the Presidential Grants Fund of the Russian Federation. The World Abaza Congress is among the event's media partners.

Svetlana Gabuniia thanked everyone who supported the festival, noting the assistance of the Russian Federation.

"We would like to thank everyone who supported us. On behalf of our entire team, we would also like to thank our great friend, Russia. This year, the project is being implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund. I hope everyone will thoroughly enjoy the "Mandarin" Festival today," she said.

The festival will run until January 10. During these days, guests will be able to immerse themselves in Abkhazian culture, make numerous culinary discoveries, and participate in master classes, competitions, and interactive activities.
