The annual international freestyle wrestling tournament for the cup of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov was held for two days, October 16 and 17, in Gudauta.
For two days, October 16 and 17, Gudauta became a town where many young wrestling athletes gathered. They came not only from all towns of Abkhazia, but also from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov, Krasnodar, Kaliningrad, Sochi, as well as from Karachay-Cherkessia, Kabardino-Balkaria, North Ossetia, South Ossetia, Ingushetia, Dagestan. The annual international tournament for the cup of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Mussa Ekzekov, was held here.
This year, about 200 young athletes in two age and 17 weight categories wrestled for the main prize and medals. All winners were awarded cups and medals. The first place winners were also awarded a monetary reward in the amount of 10 thousand rubles.
The tournament ended on October 17, but the main intrigue - who became the owner of the Mussa Ekzekov cup - remained until the final day of the “Abaza” festival. The name of the lucky winner of this cup will be known on October 18 at a gala concert in Sukhum on the Makhadzhir’s Embankment.
