The World Abaza Congress's Local Branches Department summarized the results of its basic military training project.

Over the course of the year, more than 65 high school students from five villages - Gup, Khuap, Dranda, Tamsh, and Dzhirkhua - participated in the project. The Sukhum school team for basic military training also joined the practice.

Dmitry Zhiba, Head of the WAC Department for Local Branches, noted the initiative's significance:

"Thanks to the personal support of Mussa Ekzekov, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, we can implement a project aimed at patriotic education of our youth. This is an excellent opportunity for the students to understand military science. I believe that such projects help them understand the importance of serving their homeland and build a solid foundation for their individuality," Zhiba noted.

Students from Dzhirkhua took part in the final trip. The students visited the Abkhazian Shooting Club. They completed a theoretical course on key safety rules and the basics of firearms handling. Then, under the close supervision of instructors, each student completed target practice.

"It was extremely emotional and we learned a lot. We were taught how to stand and aim correctly, and then we got a chance to shoot real guns. It was a truly amazing, unforgettable experience for us. We thank all the organizers for the trip!" said one of the students.

The project was made possible thanks to the support of the Abkhazian Shooting Club and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia. The main classes were held at the club, where the students learned safety rules and the basics of firearms handling.

Throughout the year, all project participants visited a military unit. They were given a tour and were introduced to various types of weapons.

Kherson Simoniia, a specialist of the WAC Department for Local Branches, thanked everyone involved in the project.

"We express our profound gratitude to the Ministry of Defense for their support and the opportunity to visit the Command and Intelligence Center in Sukhum. A special thank you to the Shooting Club for their assistance in bringing this idea to life. I'd like to point out that not only boys but also girls participated in the project. We noticed that they showed genuine interest, demonstrated accurate marksmanship, and handled the instructor's assignments well," he added.

The project's goal is to foster military patriotism among young people and expand their knowledge of military specialties.

The project began in 2024 and has proven highly effective: participants not only mastered basic military training skills but also strengthened their sense of responsibility and team spirit. The organizers plan to continue the project next academic year.
