The project was launched by the WAC department for work with local representatives with the support of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Abkhazian Shooting Club.

The goal of the project is to enhance knowledge in the field of military specialties among young people, to generate interest in studying military-educational disciplines and to promote a healthy lifestyle.

The first project trip was carried out in February 2024. During this period, its participants included students from five villages of the republic: Pakuash, Atara, Tsandripsh, Duripsh and Mgudzyrkhua.

This year, the first participants of the project were 15 students of the Gup Secondary School named after Daur Sarsaniia. All of them received theoretical training at the Abkhazian Shooting Club and learned basic rules for handling weapons. Following this, everyone could shoot at targets.

"Thanks to the personal support of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Mussa Ekzekov, it is possible to implement a project aimed primarily at the patriotic education of our youth. The scope and involvement of the project over the past year have shown that it is in demand and should be continued," said Dmitry Zhiba, Head of the WAC Department for Work with Local Representatives.

Assessing the opportunities provided by the project, Dzhumber Sarsaniia, a teacher of basic military training at the Gup School, noted:

"All schoolchildren, without exception, should participate in such a project. Especially those of pre-conscription age. They receive necessary theoretical knowledge during the lesson. However, not every school in Abkhazia can conduct practical classes. I am confident that all students will remember practical shooting skills," he shared.

The project involves five more trips.
