The members of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress and members of the Congress summed up the results for six months and discussed further plans within the round table, which was held in Sukhum on Saturday on September 29.

One of the founders of the Congress, the Honorary member of the WAC Taras Shamba, who previously headed the International Association of the Abkhaz-Abaza people, converted in December 2017 to WAC, delivered a welcoming speech.

«When we created the Congress 26 years ago, we wanted to save our people and save the homeland. It was a very difficult period. Thank God, we managed it. Today we have a state. We also wanted our representatives living in 44 countries of the world, to communicate. Over the years of work in the Congress I visited 38 countries, where representatives of our ethnos live. Great that now we see and communicate with each other. And today our main task is to strengthen the state,» said Shamba.

The meeting was continued by the Minister for Repatriation Beslan Dbar. He turned to the participants of the round table with a congratulatory word about the upcoming day of the 25th anniversary of the victory, determining it as a great date in the history of the Abkhaz people. He also called another victory the possibility of holding such events and meetings of compatriots.

The head of the information web portal of the WAC Amina Lazba spoke before the members of the Higher Council and described in detail the work done.

She noted that about 1,500,000 rubles was spent on the preparatory work of the portal. The costs of the content of the portal to the end of the year, as well as the photographic and video equipment, will amount to 4,000,000 rubles.

Lazba stressed that the portal was launched in five languages, there is work on the launch of the Arab version of the site, which will soon be presented to readers.

«The multi-language capacity of the website is a solution to the task in terms of the acute need for communication for representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza ethnos around the world. The fact that the materials of the portal are translated to five languages, allows us all, wherever we live and what language speak, learn about each other, about the life of the diaspora in places of compact residence around the world, to be substantiated about our history and people, which we are proud of, do not forget our roots, honor and keep our traditions, and, of course, move with the time», said the WAC portal manager.

She also paid attention to the fact that multilingual sites are the most expensive in the world: the main share of the costs of the portal content is associated with translations.

WAC Executive Secretary Inar Gitsba, noted the importance of the 5-year experience of the public organization "Alashara" for the activities of the Congress.

«The successful experience of  «Alashara» in the conservation and development of the Abazin villages plays a key role in our activities. We have the opportunity to apply the proven socially oriented programs in the Abkhaz villages of the republic and in places of residence of representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza ethnos," he said.

Gitsba is sure that further interaction of two public organizations will enable to successfully solve a number of tasks in the conservation and development of the people.

To date, more than 200 members are officially adopted in Congress and members’ contributions were in the amount of 2000 rubles.

Member of the Supreme Council Akhmed Khapat noted that the activities of the Congress should be supported by the people. He drew attention to the present that the amount of a membership fee is $ 2, or 100 rubles was approved by everyone at the Congress congress in March.

«The duty of everyone is to pay this amount, not thinking whether it is too much or not. We are grateful to Mussa Khabalevich (Chairman of the Super Council of WAC Mussa Ekzekov - Ed.) for his contribution, but this is not his personal business. And Congress does not belong only to him, it belongs to all of us. It belongs to the people. We are required to support the Congress with what we can. Everyone is able to do something: someone will bring $ 2, the other one - $ 200,» he concluded.

The Executive Secretary of the Congress Inar Gitsba, having completed the meeting, told about the upcoming plans of the Organization.

«In the near future, we will have a sociological study. We want to identify the potential of each village - both in Abkhazia and in places of compact residence of representatives of our ethnos in the world. The study in its nature will be unique, it has never been carried out earlier,» he said.

Gitsba added that as a result, it is planned to get the so-called village passport. According to the analysis of results in each of the villages, work will begin to improve these indicators.
