Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation Bashar al-Jaafari.
The meeting of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress Mussa Ekzekov and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Abkhazia to the Russian Federation Alkhas Kvitsinia with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic to the Russian Federation Bashar al-Jaafari took place at the Embassy of the Syrian Arab Republic in the Russian Federation on Thursday, 20 April.
During the meeting, as a sign of solidarity, Mussa Ekzekov handed over to Ambassador al-Jaafari financial assistance for the Syrians affected by the strong earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023.
The head of the WAC also conveyed words of support to the leadership of Syria, expressed sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to the victims.
"On behalf of the World Abaza Congress, which unites all Abkhazians and Abaza of the world, and on my own behalf, I convey words of support to the leadership of the Syrian Arab Republic in the face of President Mr. Bashar al-Assad and the fraternal Syrian people! I express my deep condolences to the families of the victims. I wish a speedy recovery to all the injured, and may our brotherhood be eternal!" Ekzekov said.
Al-Jaafari, in turn, highly appreciated the support of the Abkhaz-Abaza people and expressed gratitude for the generous assistance from the head of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov personally, noting that the active participation of representatives of the Abaza people in helping Syria from the first days after the natural disaster testifies to the strong ties of friendship between the peoples of Syria and Abkhazia.
The meeting between Mussa Ekzekov and Bashar al-Jaafari emphasizes the importance of international solidarity and the special role of diplomacy in strengthening cooperation and mutual understanding between peoples.
As the world continues to face many challenges, the message of solidarity, friendship and brotherhood serves as a beacon of hope and a reminder of the enduring power of human compassion and empathy.
The meeting was also attended by Minister-Counselor of the Embassy of Abkhazia in Russia Madina Avidzba and the Head of Staff of the Chairman of the WAC, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia Kan Tania.
The leadership of the WAC expresses its gratitude to the Ambassador of Abkhazia in Russia Alkhas Kvitsinia and the Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy Madina Avidzba for their assistance in organizing a high-level meeting.
The parties exchanged memorable gifts at the end of the meeting.
