Training involving the ASU students and representatives of the volunteer movement at the ANO "Alashara" was held in Sukhum.
The unification of the Abkhaz-Abaza people, establishing connections, introducing young people is the main task of the WAC. Achieving goals is possible with close communication. Such a chance was presented to the ASU students and representatives of the volunteer movement at the ANO "Alashara". They took part in the training organized by the World Abaza Congress.
Specialist of the WAC Department for Youth Development and Physical Culture Esma KvitsiniIa told about the importance of the training, about the formation of friendly relations among young people.
"The main task of the WAC is to unite the Abkhaz-Abaza people around the world. Our intensive course is aimed at achieving these goals. During two days, the training participants got to know each other, discussed issues that concern young people on both sides, and proposed ideas for implementing future joint projects. I hope that the result of our joint activities will be a project implemented through the joint efforts of young people from Abkhazia and Abazashta,” said Kvitsiniia.
On the first day of the seminar, the participants, together with invited specialist Arda Inal-ipa, exchanged their experiences with each other regarding the processes taking place in their regions, talked about such pressing issues of the modern world as the loss of traditions, the role of the native language, and a careless attitude towards nature. Having identified the main areas for further joint work, they began planning social projects.
Arda Inal-ipa, a member of the board of directors of the Center for Humanitarian Programs, shared her impressions of the intensive course implemented jointly with the WAC.
“On the initiative of the World Abaza Congress, we have been working on social projects for two days. The guys showed great interest in the task and are actively participating in the seminar. It is encouraging that they are concerned about many things and are not indifferent to the problems they face. Their willingness to take responsibility for changing the situation for the better is inspiring," noted Inal-ipa.
The second day of the seminar began with a lecture by Arda Ashuba, a member of the Supreme Council of the WAC and associate professor of ASU, on the Abkhaz-Abaza unity in language, culture and history.
"Based on the questions that were asked, I noticed that young people like each other. They are interested in learning more. They ask questions about the similarities and differences in languages, traditions. It is gratifying to see interested youth. If we visit each other more often for sports, cultural, and mass events, then we will be able to see even greater interest," Ashuba said.
After the interactive lecture, the participants returned to the training. During the second working day, they divided into three groups and worked on their social projects.
At the end of the intensive, each team presented its project.
Umar Khuzhev, a representative of the volunteer movement at ANO "Alashara", told about the project that he and the participants from his team had put together.
"Projects on the development of sports, language, and an environmental project were presented. These are interesting projects aimed at involving society in active social life. I took part in a project to preserve the language, customs, and culture of the Abaza people. Together with other participants from my group, we chose this direction because, like in Abazashta, in Abkhazia, young people are subject to globalization and are losing their national identity,” he noted.
Khuzhev emphasized the atmosphere of the training, which was conducive to establishing friendly relations, and thanked the organizers of the event.
“Many guys have become friends over the past two days. I think that we will be able to maintain these warm relations for a long time and will continue working on joint projects with the same enthusiasm as at the training. Thanks to all the organizers, thanks to whom this training became possible,” he added.
The working atmosphere was replaced by cultural leisure. For example, an individual tour to the Museum of Money of Abkhazia was organized for the participants. The guys were told about the history of the circulation of money issued in Abkhazia in different historical periods. All those who wished could mint coins on a minting machine. On behalf of the WAC, each guest was presented with the Abkhazian national currency - apsar.
Two days of close communication, the intensity of the events left many impressions.
Head of the Youth Development Department of the ANO "Alashara" Stella Dzhemakulova thanked the Congress team for implementing the training.
"I would like to note that the training was held in a pleasant atmosphere. The guys learned more about each other, learned about the similarities and differences between our two fraternal peoples. Following this meeting, we hope for joint, fruitful work. I would like to express my profound gratitude to our colleagues from the WAC, in particular Esma Kvitsiniia for the warm welcome, excellent organization of the event, an interesting program and interactive leisure. Our guys were satisfied. We are going home filled with the desire to implement joint ideas," she said.
Both the participants and the organizers were satisfied with the results of the event. Specialist of the OSAZ department of the WAC Naur Khishba expressed hope for the further development of the project.
"We express our gratitude to the venue of the training - the Department of Youth and Sports of Sukhum, and, separately, a huge thank you to Arda Inal-ipa for sharing her knowledge and concepts with the guys," said Khishba.
According to him, the format of the event was not chosen by chance.
"We would like to build a youth association not only on based on sports competitions or just mutual visits, but also the ability to jointly solve social problems," he said.
