The World Abaza Congress together with the deputy of the Sukhum City Council Irakly Kharchilava organized a children's holiday in the capital of Abkhazia.
The World Abaza Congress, together with the deputy of the Sukhum City Council, Irakly Kharchilava, organized a children's holiday, which was held in the Old Town district in Sukhum on Wednesday July 8. The holiday brought together more than 100 children.
The date and place of the event were not chosen accidentally. The fact is that in the area of the Old Town and the neighboring districts of the Abkhaz capital every year for four years already a children's holiday is held in June, dated to the Children's Day. It was organized by the deputy of the City Council Irakly Kharchilava.
However, this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the June holiday was postponed, but another significant date remained ahead - the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. This day is being celebrated in many states on July 8th since recently.
Temur Rekvava, representative of the WAC at the celebration, Chairman of the Council of the regional branch of the WAC in St. Petersburg, said that this year the deputy asked the Congress for assistance in organizing the celebration.
“When Irakly addressed us, we immediately supported his initiative and provided the necessary assistance. Thus, this is the third children's holiday organized by the WAC. For us, these events are especially important because we see how happy the children are, how many positive emotions they receive,” said Rekvava.
Irakly Kharchilava, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the World Abaza Congress.
“Thank you very much to the whole team, headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Congress, Mussa Ekzekov, for not being indifferent to my request,” he said.
The organizers and parents of the children who visited the holiday thanked from the heart.
So, Nanuli Shinkuba believes that such holidays are “extremely important to hold,” and especially, “when a pandemic rages in the world.”
“Children are happy, which means that we, their parents, are happy too. Thank you very much for your attention, we are very pleased,” she said.
Of course, most of all thanks were expressed by the happy faces of the children. Everyone enjoyed this day. Children danced, sang songs, played with their favorite cartoon characters, who were represented by animators, lined up to take photos and selfies. According to the tradition prevailing at previous holidays, all the participants were waited by a surprise - a fun paper show that the children loved.
Kira Khmail is 7 years old. She came to the party with her parents. The girl admitted that she was at the Sukhum festival last year. She liked it both then and now. This year, Kira liked the paper show the most.
“I really liked everything, I had a lot of fun. Thank you all very much,” she said.
Brother and sister Leon and Naala Kvitsiniya took part in all the rides, took selfies with their favorite cartoon characters. Naala liked playing games the most, and Leon liked dancing. The boy expressed his attitude to everything he saw briefly and simply.
“It was a cool holiday. My sister and I had a great time,” he said.
Another young participant in the event, Nestor Kachabava, did not immediately join all the children, but after several competitions could not resist. As Nestor himself admitted, at first he was a little shy, but when he saw everyone having fun, he wanted to join.
“I liked it all very much. There were songs, dances, fun games. Thanks to the organizers for this day,” he thanked.
Earlier this year, the World Abaza Congress organized children's parties in the villages of Atara and Pakuash, where children from nearby villages of Ochamchira district came. Parties were attended by over 500 children.
