In the daily address of the Headquarters, the Deputy Minister of Health of Abkhazia called the state of emergency and its observance by citizens necessary despite the fact that the coronovirus in Abkhazia on April 4 was not detected.

From the moment the country's leadership takes measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection in Abkhazia, the deputy head of the Operational Headquarters for Medical Issues, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia Alkhas Kondzharia informs the population about the state of affairs daily.

According to the latest data, over the past 24 hours one person came to the infectious diseases hospital in Sukhum.  He was diagnosed with SARS.  Two patients were admitted to the central district hospital of Gudauta.  Coronavirus was not detected in them.

More than 150 calls have been processed in the single call center for processing calls about the coronavirus over the past 24 hours (within the framework of the measures taken, a call center has been created, where residents of Abkhazia with various questions can call, including those requiring qualified assistance from psychologists - ed.).

“To date, the coronavirus has not been detected in Abkhazia, but despite this, it is necessary to continue to observe the state of emergency and not to leave home without urgent need.  This is the only way to prevent the spread of infection in the territory of Abkhazia,” Alkhas Kondzharia addressed the residents of Abkhazia.

To date, about 60 people have been tested for coronavirus infection.
