Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, congratulated representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza people on the holiday of Kurban Bayram (Eid al-Adha)

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov, congratulated the representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza ethnic group on the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca and the completion of the Hajj.

He noted that one of the most important Islamic holidays, Kurban Bayram, has played a large role in the life of the Muslim Ummah for centuries, serves to bring people closer together, educates a careful, respectful attitude to the ancient history, customs and precepts of ancestors.

In his congratulatory message Mussa Ekzekov stressed that the Muslims of the countries of residence of the Abkhaz-Abaza Diaspora honor these spiritual traditions and widely celebrate Kurban Bayram.

«The Abkhaz-Abaza Muslim community actively participates in the life of Abkhazia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Turkey, Syria, Jordan and many other countries, contributes significantly to the education of youth, the development of interreligious and interethnic dialogue. And of course, its activities are very important for the maintenance of peace and civil harmony in the society,» said the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC.

He also wished everyone peace, good, health and happiness.

Muslims annually celebrate Kurban Bayram on the tenth day of the month of the Islamic lunar calendar. This holiday is dedicated to the memory of the sacrifice of Ibrahim, who is considered a prophet in Islam, and lasts three days.
