The WAC Department for Education, Social Activity and Healthcare held a career guidance training in the Atara Secondary School. It was attended by the teacher of construction disciplines of the Sukhum State College Alisa Bartsyts and the editor-in-chief of the Sputnik Abkhazia news agency Arda Lushba. The invited specialists, together with the head of the WAC OSAZ Izolda Khagba and the department specialist Naur Khishba, discussed with the schoolchildren the importance of choosing a future profession, talked about in-demand specialties and shared their own experiences. They told the children how they learned their professions and obtained additional skills, what difficulties they encountered in the process of employment. The schoolchildren, in turn, actively asked questions and shared plans for the future. At the end of the event, the WAC staff handed out flyers with information about colleges in Abkhazia to the schoolchildren.
Career guidance is conducted in Abkhazian schools with the aim of helping participants acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to choose a future profession. The trainings help senior school students to be prepared for independent and deliberate planning, and determine their life and professional plans.
