Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Musa Ekzekov, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Stanislav Lakoba on his passing
Tragic news came from Abkhazia. Stanislav Zosimovich Lakoba has passed away. An outstanding scholar, historian, public figure, a man of rare talent, knowledge, and energy. This is a great loss for the entire Abkhazia.
I had the utmost respect for Stanislav Zosimovich. It was always important for me to hear his opinion. He was an amazing conversationalist: he never tried to please or adapt – he told it like it was, what he thought. He had his own unique perspective on every issue.
It's a rare gift of fate to meet someone whose assessments and opinions will serve as a life guideline. Someone who always tells the truth and helps you see any issue in a new light. For me, Stanislav Zosimovich was that very person. I'm sure that for many others in Abkhazia and beyond, he was a beacon with whom we compared our lives.
My condolences to Stanislav Zosimovich's family and friends. He will always remain in our memories and in our hearts.
