Dear brothers and sisters!

Today is the Day of Liberation of Sukhum.

Thirty-three years ago, the courage and resilience of the defenders of the Fatherland made it possible to liberate the capital and bring the long-awaited Victory closer. We honor the memory of all those who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland - those who, from the very first days, believed in the liberation of Abkhazia’s capital, never retreated, and continued the fight.

Today, Sukhum is looking into the future. It is developing and transforming, yet the memory of those who liberated the town remains forever a part of its history and its character.

I wish peace, good health, and prosperity to all the residents of Sukhum and the whole Abkhazia!
