An exposition of paintings by Zaur Mukba, timed to the 75th anniversary of the artist, opened in the Central Exhibition Hall of Sukhum.
The authorship exposition of works by Abkhaz artist Zaur Mukba opened in Sukhum on Thursday, May 2. The exhibition is timed to the anniversary of the master, who in 2015 turned 75 years old. His works of different years, located in these days in the Central Exhibition Hall, caused great interest.
Pictures can be not only viewed, but also purchased: the exposition is simultaneously an exhibition and a fair. Some works of the artist are kept in private galleries in Europe.
The author admitted that his main instigator is Abkhazia itself, his homeland, to which he dedicated a significant part of his works.
“My “oldest” work presented at this exhibition is from 1978. This is a landscape made in graphics. I love working in different techniques and different colors. I am very pleased that the exhibition aroused people's interest, there are many of my friends who came to support me,” said the artist.
Chairman of the Union of Artists of Abkhazia Vitaly Dzheniya called Zaur Mukba “Maestro of Painting”, noting that he has been for many years “surprising fans and is rightfully considered one of the leading artists of Abkhazia.”
“The works that we see are filled with depth. His landscapes always attract attention, they are always very special,” believes Dzheniya.
The exhibition will run until May 15, admission is free.
