Two new cases of coronavirus infection were revealed in Abkhazia over the past day.

Two more people were added to the number of cadets who returned from Russian military universities with coronavirus.  Thus, over the past two days, six cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Abkhazia. This was informed by the Operational HQ to protect the population from coronavirus infection in a daily appeal to citizens.

“The sick will be taken to the Gudauta hospital today.  Their condition is regarded as satisfactory,” said the Operational HQ.

Earlier, at the end of March, a state of emergency was introduced in Abkhazia, which was valid until April 20, after which it was not extended by decision of the authorities.  At the same time, the authorities urge the country's population to continue to comply with restrictive measures to combat the spread of infection.

All the towns of Abkhazia currently have central markets open three days a week. Schools, kindergartens and the university remain closed.
