Members of the Supreme Council of the WAC summed up the interim results of the activities of the Congress and outlined the priority areas of work until the end of 2019.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, Mussa Ekzekov, held the fourth meeting of the members of the Supreme Council on Tuesday 11 June.  It took place in the form of an online video conference: the members contacted the Sukhum office of the WAC from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Cherkessk, Nalchik, Stavropol, Istanbul and Sakaria. The agenda of the meeting was a discussion of the interim results of the work and the definition of Congress plans for the near future.

The results of the financial and economic activities of the WAC were voiced by the head of the PC ANO  “Alashara” in Cherkessk and the chairman of the Central Audit Commission of the Congress, Murat Mukov.  He reported in detail for the period from May 2018 to April 2019.

According to him, during the reporting period, the Congress expenses amounted to 27,045,000 rubles, of which 27,018,000 rubles were donations to the Congress fund from the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Mussa Ekzekov, and the head of the Moscow Abkhaz Diaspora, a member of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Beslan Agrba. The membership fees amounted to 27 000 rubles. Mukov explained that the final amount consists of salaries of the Congress staff in Sukhum, taxes, travel expenses, expenses for humanitarian projects, hospitality, repair and maintenance costs for the office, furniture and office equipment, payment for the provision of information services for the web information portal and others.

“The audit commission came to the conclusion that the results of the financial and economic activities of the Congress for [this] period can be considered satisfactory.  There are no violations that could affect the stability of the organization,” said Mukov.

The next question of the meeting was devoted to the work plan of the Congress for 2019.  The plan envisages the establishment of local offices of the WAC in Abkhazia, the implementation of international activities, in particular, working visits to Turkey, Egypt, Jordan and Germany, holding charity events and other projects.

Mussa Ekzekov clarified that, despite the fact that the work plan was adopted, it will be supplemented in working order.

The third part of the meeting dealt with the preparations for the traditional sports event “Games of the people of Abaza” in the KChR and the Flag Day of the Republic of Abkhazia. Murat Mukov also spoke on this issue. He told about the work of the organizing committee, about the gathering of teams from the countries of residence of representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza Diaspora.

Commenting on the upcoming games, Mussa Ekzekov stressed that “everyone should make maximum efforts for the teams to take part. We expect that this year we will hold the games brighter than in the past,” added Ekzekov.

The head of the web information portal Amina Lazba spoke about the interim results of the web information portal of the World Abaza Congress. She noted that, since the launch of the information portal, more than 1,500 materials of various formats in 5 languages ​​have been published.

“Over the last quarter, the website was visited by about 20 thousand unique users. The portal is actively read in Russia, Georgia, Abkhazia, Turkey, Ireland, Armenia, the USA, Germany, Azerbaijan, the UK and other countries of the world,” Lazba said.

She said that an Arabic version of the portal will be launched at the end of this month. Now the website publishes materials in the Abkhaz, Russian, Turkish, English and Abaza languages. By the end of the year, new functions will be introduced, one of which will allow representatives of the Abkhaz-Abaza Diaspora to communicate in the vastness of the website, the head of the web information portal added.

“On the eve of the meeting, a new functionality was launched - online payment of membership fees and the possibility of providing financial support for the projects of the Congress. Today, this functionality works in the territory of Abkhazia and Russia, but soon the rest of the world will have this opportunity,” Lazba said.

Summing up the meeting, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, Mussa Ekzekov, called on all members of the SC to actively participate in the projects of the Congress and propose new ideas.

Meetings of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress are held regularly. The previous meeting of the members of the Supreme Council was held in Istanbul in January 2019.  It discussed the main results of  WAC activities for the year.
