The leadership of Abkhazia introduced additional measures to combat coronavirus infection.
The Acting President of the Republic of Abkhazia Valery Bganba signed the Decree on the introduction of additional restrictive measures on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia and the establishment of administrative responsibility for violations.
From April 11, from 00:00 to the end of the state of emergency, the presence of citizens on the streets, embankments, squares, parks, squares or other public places is prohibited.
The Decree provides for categories of citizens who are not subject to established restrictive measures. These are employees of healthcare and social institutions, government bodies, emergency rescue, fire and communal services, law enforcement and law enforcement agencies, and banking infrastructure.
An exception is the presence on the street and moving in order to receive medical care and in case of a threat to life and health of people.
It is not a violation to be on the street on the way to the place of purchase of food and medical goods, as well as for the removal of household waste and when caring for legally incapable persons and persons over 60 years of age.
Joint (no more than two people) being in public places within the framework of these restrictions is permissible for persons living in the same residential building.
Exceptions are also cases following to the place of agricultural work.
The first violation of restrictive measures aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 entails a warning. Repeated violation - a fine of 3 thousand rubles.Violation of the self-isolation regime entails a fine of 5 thousand rubles. Penalties in the amount of 10 thousand and 20 thousand rubles are provided for violation of the isolation regime by persons under surveillance due to suspected infection, and by persons recognized as patients with COVID-19 or carriers of the pathogen, respectively.

The Deputy Head of the Medical Operational Headquarters, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Abkhazia, Alkhas Kondzharia, in a daily address to the people of the Republic said that in Abkhazia no new cases of COVID-19 have been revealed over the past day. Thus, there are still two patients with COVID-19 in RA. Both patients are residents of Gagra, they are members of the same family.
“Patients with confirmed coronavirus infection are under the supervision of doctors at the Gudauta Central Hospital, their condition is without negative dynamics. Over the past day, 11 people have been tested for coronavirus. Everyone has negative results,” said Kondzharia.
Since March 24, 2020, the leadership of Abkhazia has taken a set of measures to protect the population of Abkhazia from the coronavirus infection COVID-19 - in particular, mass events were discontinued, educational institutions were disbanded, government agencies were restricted, retail outlets were closed, with the exception of food and essential goods, and also pharmacies, movement of citizens was limited, a number of other measures have been taken.
Since March 28, a state of emergency has been declared in the Republic: the Abkhaz-Russian border has been temporarily closed for crossing, with the exception of military personnel and diplomats, control over crossing the state border has been strengthened for citizens of Abkhazia returning to the Republic.
