Members of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress at a regular meeting on Thursday October 17 discussed current work and plans for the near future.
Opening the meeting, the Chairman of the WAC Supreme Council, Mussa Ekzekov, passed the floor to the Executive Secretary Inar Gitsba, who announced the agenda. It consisted of the same issues that were discussed the day before by the members of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the WAC.
Kan Taniya, the head of the Chief of Staff of the Supreme Council of the WAC, spoke in more detail about the admission of new members to the Congress. He noted that today the basis of the regional structure of the Congress has already been formed.
“Daily active work is underway to accept new members of the Congress. Thanks to this work, more than 1000 people have joined WAC in a year and a half. The regional council in Abkhazia was headed by Inar Gitsba, [here] 346 new members joined the WAC, in the KChR 390 people joined, Vladimir Pshenokov in the KBR, 30 joined there, 38 people joined in the Stavropol Region, Daur Bargandzhiya in Moscow, 80 people joined there and 35 people in St. Petersburg with local council headed by Temur Rekvava. The regional council also works in Adjara,” said Kan Taniya.
Concluding his speech, he noted that all regional councils needed to coordinate their efforts in order to increase the number of new members of Congress.
Then, Deputy Chief of Staff Mikhail Kalinkin addressed the members of the Supreme Council, who spoke about the organization’s expenses for a year and a half.
“The total cost estimate of the WAC for the period from 2018 to September 2019 amounted to about 37 million rubles. This amount includes both the maintenance of the Congress information portal, the wages of the WAC staff, and the costs of events organized by the Congress,” he said.
Kalinkin noted that almost all of the financial, material, technical and other resource support for the activities of the Congress is carried out today by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov. The Executive Director of the WAC also added that part of the financing of the Congress is carried out by a member of the Supreme Council Beslan Agrba.
The head of the information portal Amina Lazba, speaking at the meeting, made a number of proposals - in particular, on changing the format of the application for membership in the Congress to an electronic version and on the possibility of issuing an electronic membership certificate. The proposals made by the members of the SC WAC were unanimously accepted.
Commenting on the outcome of the meeting, a member of the Supreme Council of the WAC Oleg Bartsyts noted that the activities carried out by the WAC led by Mussa Ekzekov “have immense respect”, as well as the activity of the young team members. He expressed confidence that such work “will certainly bear fruit in the short term.”
“I think that the popularity of participation in the World Abaza Congress is gaining momentum. I am convinced that the Congress will be a large organization in terms of membership. I see how the core of the Congress operates, it acts very effectively on the media field in the direction of informing our potential WAC members in many countries of the world. I think that this will immediately bear fruit,” concluded Bartsyts.
Meetings of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress are held regularly. The previous meeting took place in June 2019 in Istanbul. It discussed the main results of the activities of the WAC for the year.
