Mussa Ekzekov, the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, met with the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko on Thursday December 19, the press service of the WAC informs.

During the meeting, which was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, issues of the general activity of the Congress on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia, as well as the international agenda of the organization were discussed.

Participants of the meeting paid special attention to the international activities of the Congress in the countries of residence of the Abkhaz-Abaza Diaspora and the interaction of the leadership of the WAC with the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation in the places where the regional branches of the Congress were opened.

It is to be recalled that in December of this year, on behalf of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC, Mussa Ekzekov, four regional branches of the Congress were opened - in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In the same period, the Congress staff held consultative meetings in The Hague and Brussels with the leadership of Russian diplomatic missions in these countries.

Meetings of the leadership of the WAC and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation have become a good tradition of “synchronizing watches” on issues of mutual interest, based on the traditional relations of friendship and good neighborliness of Russia and Abkhazia, close historical ties between peoples based on respect, trust and the desire for mutual rapprochement.

The consultative interaction between the leadership of the World Abaza Congress and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia is based on the Agreement of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Abkhazia of September 17, 2008.
