WAC continues lectures on the ethnography of Abkhazia.
The Department of the World Abaza Congress for work with local representatives continues to conduct lectures on the ethnography and history of Abkhazia. Open lectures are held in schools across the republic. Another conversation took place in the village of Kulanyrkhua, Gudauta district. It was conducted by Associate Professor of the Department of History and Ethnography of ASU, Candidate of Historical Sciences Sima Tarba. The topic of the lecture is “Traditions of education among Abkhazians and Abaza.” Two more lectures are planned to be held by the end of this year.
A gala evening was held in St. Petersburg on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia.
The gala evening on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Victory and Independence Day of the Republic of Abkhazia took place at the Fruits of Enlightenment theater at the Grand Canyon development site.
The event was opened by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the World Abaza Congress, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, President of the international association ANO "Alashara" Mussa Ekzekov. In his speech, he thanked veterans, volunteers and everyone without whom victory would have been impossible.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Defense of the Republic of Abkhazia David Bzhania and the first head of the St. Petersburg Abkhazian community “Apsny” Rauf Ayba. The main part of the evening was the solemn ceremony of awarding medals “30 years of Victory in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia 1992-1993” to the veterans and St. Petersburg volunteers. In addition, everyone who took part in collecting humanitarian aid for the republic was awarded letters of gratitude from the Ministry of Defense of Abkhazia. To commemorate the 30th Victory in the PWPA, Mussa Ekzekov was awarded the “For maintaining peace in Abkhazia” medal. As part of the event, guests were introduced to the WAC “Letter” project.
The creative part of the evening was attended by artists of the national dance group “Abaza”, which was created under the WAC, as well as singer, participant in the 10th season of the “Voice” vocal project-show Ana Agrba.
