WAC organized an excursion day for schoolchildren of the village of Adzyubzha
As part of the “Aimadara” project, the WAC department for work with local representative offices held another tour day for students of the Adzyubzha village Secondary School named after A.M. Chochua. 20 high school students, together with their teachers, visited the Novy Afon cave, and then climbed to the top of Iverian Mountain. The picturesque views and rich history of these places left no one indifferent. The excursion gave the children a lot of pleasant impressions and new discoveries. The busy day concluded with a picnic near the raging Psyrdzkha River.
Representatives of the WAC, led by Mussa Ekzekov, honored the memory of the heroes of the Second World War
The regional branch of the World Abaza Congress in St. Petersburg, headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the WAC Mussa Ekzekov, the Abkhazian Diaspora of St. Petersburg and cadets of the A. Mozhaysky Military Space Academy honored the memory of those perished in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Participants in the ceremony laid flowers at the memorials of natives of Karachay-Cherkessia and Abkhazia at the Piskarevskoye cemetery.
According to archival materials, 55.5 thousand people from Abkhazia were drafted into the ranks of the Soviet Army and Navy. Over 17 thousand people did not return from the front.
Over 46 thousand people were drafted from Karachay-Cherkessia. Almost half of them have not returned home.
